Liquefied material is injected under pressure directly into voids, cracks, fractures and cavities, or between bearing walls. Methods include compaction, curtain, chemical and slurry grouting, with cement and admixtures matched to each job.
Compaction Grouting
Cement grout pumped under pressure into a target zone pushes weak soil aside as it forms a grouted mass, compacting the surrounding ground and increasing its bearing capacity.
Staged Injection
Grout is usually placed in stages from the bottom of a drilled shaft upward. For shallow work it can be injected top-down, first forming a dense cap that contains the grout at lower levels.
Uses
Preparing soils, lifting structures, filling voids under old buildings and in limestone karst formations, relieving abutments and treating dangerous sinkholes.
